Skin Syncopation - Selena Gomez Good For You Entry

Good For You is about smooth, and elegant display; the pause between the skip of heartbeats. Selena Gomez showcases how simple and effortless it is for her to shine for her subject, and my piece captures that.

To start, my piece "Skin Syncopation" plays on the music video's effectiveness by calling attention to Selena in a different way. The famous white tee/stool scene is now interpreted with the knobs all the way up, drawing the viewer's eyes to her skin and forcing them to search for detail (who's complaining though?).

On top of that, the soft pastel palette and gentle transitions in color on the tee visually reflect how smooth Good For You is, sonically. One is lead on this iridescent sampler by Selena's beautiful falling hair and various visual elements. Heck, even my hand drawn script in the center slings your eyes on a journey.

Furthermore, as a small attention to detail, in the bottom left, "good for you" is there - in braille. Hey, both the song and the video are aesthetically light and are sexy + heartfelt. Everything about the two are like distant gasps of air that leave you feeling for rich yet subtle detail. I've translated that idea by speaking for Selena and saying "you can FEEL that I'm good for you."

I believe my entry is overarchingly successful at embodying the tasteful musical caress and visual satisfaction Selena has put forth. This is what I feel when I see/hear Good For You.
